Building Beyond Festival: the challenge of resources
From 13 to 15 May, Leonard – VINCI’s innovation and foresight platform – and its partners* held the 8th edition of the Building Beyond Festival, exploring this year’s theme: “Resources: a challenge for cities and regions.”
With many resources becoming increasingly scarce – whether material or immaterial (water, sand, soil, rare metals, biomass, but also labour, know-how, time and attention) – resource preservation has become a critical issue.
Over three days, the festival featured a rich programme of talks, debates, workshops and artistic performances, tackling the topic in all its complexity: from geopolitics and resource access, to circular economy solutions, the changing landscape of construction professions, and the potential of reuse and recycling.
A highlight of the event was the round table on Sustainable resource management and new partnerships, featuring Pierre Anjolras, CEO of VINCI, and Benoit Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Saint-Gobain.

To consume less, we must make greater efforts to find new solutions – through innovation and transformation.
Pierre Anjolras, Chief Executive Officer of VINCI
