Fabrication of first formwork elements

On the worksite of the second bridge over the Wouri in Douala, the first formwork element for the creation of the voussoirs has been made by a mobile joiner’s shop installed at the site in late August 2014. The slightly-curved new bridge, 760 m in length and both a road and a railway bridge, is being built by Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction), leader, in a joint venture with Soletanche Bachy (Soletanche Freyssinet), Dodin Campenon Bernard (VINCI Construction) and Sogea TPI (VINCI Construction France). It will relieve congestion on the existing bridge, built in the 1950s.
