Demolition of a paper mill in the north of France
On 26 September, teams from Cardem (Eurovia) demolished two 85 m-high chimneys at the site of the former Stora Enso paper mills in Brebières, near Douai.
Carried out using explosives, this required that the blasters place 57 carefully programmed explosive charges.
In parallel with these operations the Cardem teams are also working on the demolition of many of the buildings on this industrial site of some 70 hectares, from which SN Prestosid, also a Eurovia subsidiary, has been removing asbestos since March.
