1 August 2016 - Projects update and handover - Australia

In August 2016, Entrepose (VINCI Construction), VINCI Construction Grands Projets and their partner Thiess handed over to their client Bechtel (representing oil company Chevron) two of the four structures making up the project, i.e. a 150,000 cu. metre liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank and a 120,000 cu. metre condensate reservoir.

This handover will enable the Wheatstone Terminal to welcome its first LNG tanker as of early 2017.

Two Soletanche Freyssinet (VINCI Construction) companies also contributed their expertise on this project: Menard, which supplied all the foundations, i.e. 2,000 piles, and Freyssinet, responsible for the prestressed concrete of the LNG tanks.

Once completed, in mid-2017, this terminal will put Australia in the first rank of the world’s LNG producers.
