1 July 2017 - New contracts - Russian Federation

During the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg (SPIEF 2017), Avtodor, the public company in charge of the management of Russia’s motorways, expanded its interoperability agreement with VINCI Highways, a subsidiary of VINCI Concessions.

Within a few months’ time, users will thus be able to rely on a single transponder to access a 641 km-long, cross-Russia road network thanks to cooperation between the various concessionaires and toll operators. The 138 km of sections 7 and 8 of the Moscow-St Petersburg motorway, currently under construction, will also be included within this system when they come into service.

This initiative marks an important step forward in the development of road transport in Russia. Thanks to VINCI Highways’ leadership in the areas of interoperability and electronic toll collection, the new system could be set up in less than two years from the start of the first discussions with the Russian authorities.
