Underpass beneath the Bordeaux-Arcachon road

In La Teste (west of France), the new underpass beneath the RN 250, which enables motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to cross the fast Bordeaux-Arcachon road and get from the town centre to the commune’s integrated development zone (ZAC), was inaugurated on 9 January 2016. This ceremony marked the end of a complex project in which some ten 10 VINCI companies participated. Moter (Eurovia), for example, was involved in implementing the engineering structure and roadways works packages, in a joint venture with, in particular, Sogea Sud-Ouest Hydraulique (VINCI Construction France), leader. A number of difficulties had to be overcome: crossing a railway line, re-routing a gas pipe, driving a tunnel for a buried high-voltage power line and building a roundabout while maintaining traffic flows. Sogea Sud-Ouest Hydraulique and GTM Sud-Ouest TP-GC (also a VINCI Construction France subsidiary), meanwhile, were involved in this project to undertake underwater earthworks and concreting works requiring the deployment of divers. And during this project the Trenchmix® process of Soletanche Bachy (VINCI Construction) was used (incorporation in the ground of binder).
