Underground storage for green hydrogen near Berlin

German energy service provider EWE is creating an underground hydrogen storage facility in a cavern near Berlin.

The company has appointed Actemium (VINCI Energies) to supply all the electrical technology for this site, located at a depth of 1,000 m: all the electrical installations, the instrumentation, monitoring and control (IMC), and the IMC connection to the EWE installation in Rudersdorf. The construction of this 500 m³ experimental cavern should take 18 months
