Restructuring and renovation of the Musée de la Libération and the Catacombs
5 September 2018 - Projects update and handover - France
The teams from CBC, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction France, are currently involved in the restructuring work at the Musée de la Libération and the Catacombs in Paris. This operation, which is part of the Paris museum historical heritage renovation plan, will be completed in August 2019 in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Paris.
The work includes the renovation and restructuring of two 6,000m2 lodges built in 1787, the renovation of the former customs halls at the city gates of Paris as well as the refitting of the former command centre of Colonel Rol-Tanguy, leader in the French Resistance during World War II, located 20m underground. The western lodge, currently situated just above, will be turned into the future Musée de la Libération.
