Renewal of switches and crossings at Paris-Montparnasse

ETF (Eurovia) has just completed a project to renew 17 switches and crossings within Paris-Montparnasse station.

Part of a multi-annual Vigirail programme project, it concerned the speeding up of train movements. It was divided into three phases: eight weeks of preparatory works, nine days of principal works (round-the-clock shifts, 3 x 8), and four nights and a weekend of finishing works, with three weeks for finishing touches and clearing the works base.

In total, some 80 people from several ETF entities worked night and day to ensure the operation went well.
