1 November 2016 - Projects update and handover - New-Zealand

In a 50/50 joint venture with Downer NZ, Soletanche Bachy International (VINCI Construction) has been awarded a contract by Auckland Transport for preparatory works for the City Rail Link project, i.e. the construction of two underground railway tunnels in the centre of the New Zealand capital.

Working on a general contracting basis, the joint venture, as it carries out the various civil engineering operations, will ensure that the city’s railway station – beneath and around which most of the works will be located – remains operational.

The project also includes numerous subcontracting contracts which will be entrusted to, among others, other Soletanche Freyssinet Group entities: Sixense for the infrastructure monitoring, and Freyssinet for the elevation and the underpinning of the existing building. March Construction, a local Soletanche Bachy International company, will be assisting in the management of the joint venture and will make available to it both human resources and equipment as well as its local infrastructure.
