26 September 2018 - Projects update and handover - France

The metropolis of Saint-Étienne has awarded ETF (a Eurovia subsidiary and lead contractor on the tracks works package) the construction of a new tram line.

4.3 km in length, it will link the existing Lines T1 and T2, and will serve the Châteaucreux, Le Soleil, SNCF train station and Zénith indoor arena neighbourhoods, as well as the Technopole industrial area and the Geoffroy-Guichard Stadium.

The project also includes the renovation of two existing stops and the creation of six new stops. Most of the line will be composed of track with duo-block ties; a quarter features stringers supported on plastic, enabling trams to travel on a track covered by grass.

The works started in September 2018 and are due for completion in March 2019.
