New quay for the port of Sète
1 February 2017 - Projects update and handover - France
From March to October 2016, Eurovia’s Juvignac office was involved, sub-contracting for Soletanche Bachy (VINCI Construction), in the construction of a new quay in the port of Sète (south of France).
This 470 lm-long infrastructure can now accommodate container ships up to 510 m in length, as well as ro-ro ships and cement carriers, the port’s storage area having increased from 17,000 to 76,000 sq. metres. In line with the principles of the circular economy, Eurovia’s technical solution was based on the optimisation of resources: the materials resulting from the dismantling of the old breakwater were crushed to produce three forms of recycled aggregate.
Total project value: €45m, of which €3.9m for Eurovia.
