1 June 2017 - Projects update and handover - France

In a joint venture with Cegelec New Caledonia (VINCI Energies France), Epureau and Madea Concept, SCB (VINCI Construction Dom-Tom) is building the Magenta aquatic centre for the city of Nouméa, in New Caledonia. Extending over some 6,000 sq. metres, the complex will notably feature five pools, including a 25 m swimming pool, an artificial wave and an area with a slide.

The joint venture is responsible for the construction works package, comprising the foundations, the structural works for the buildings, pools and pool surrounds and the external works, as well as the energy production, the artificial wave and the slide.

The contract also includes the waterproofing works and the surfacing for the outside areas – for which, as a technical alternative, the joint venture has suggested a vinyl ester resin surface for the pools and patterned concrete for the surrounds. The works will take 17 months.
Contract value: €5.7m, of which €4.1m for SCB.
