LUMA Arles, the 10-hectare cultural campus created by the LUMA Foundation, will open to the public in 2018. It comprises a park, six industrial buildings and a sculpture-like tower.

The latter is made of stainless steel, concrete and glass and is meant to mirror the Baux de Provence rock clusters. This landmark tower was designed by Franck Gehry, whose technical exploits (including the recently built Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris) have brought him international fame.

The VINCI Construction France teams (GTM Sud, Dumez Méditerranée and Dumez Sud) have been working on the construction this 56-metre high sculpture-like tower since 2014, as well as on all the finishes and fittings.

The use of a digital model was necessary given the challenging superposition of the design and construction stages of this architecturally complex and unique building. The digital model facilitated collaboration between the teams who worked together to finalize a shared model featuring the many different structures that needed to be built and assembled to shape this exceptional building.
