Line 3 of the Cairo metro extension: ETF working on two new phases

Following the first two phases of the works to extend Line 3 of the Cairo metro, ETF (Eurovia), leader, is currently laying rails for phase 4A and embarking on the construction of the 5 km-long 4B overground extension.

Also included: the creation of four new stations and a central depot – the largest ever built for a metro in Egypt. This project, on which VINCI Construction Grands Projets, too, will be contributing, for the civil engineering, will involve nearly 15.5 km of track and about 60 switches and crossings.

Begun in May 2018, work on the main line will take a year; work on the depot/workshop building, launched in August 2018, will be completed in November 2019.
