On the East End Crossing project, in the USA, work has just started on installing the prefabricated slabs and the stay cables of towers T3 and T4 of the Ohio River Bridge, supplied by Freyssinet (VINCI Construction), together with the associated equipment and technical support for their installation.
This project is being implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership awarded by the Indiana Finance Authority to the WVB East End Partners consortium, led by VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions) and also including Walsh Investors and Bilfinger Project. It covers the development, design, construction, financing and operation for a period of 35 years of a “transport system” comprising a cable-stayed bridge, a motorway and a tunnel. The works, being undertaken on a design-build basis by VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Walsh, have now reached the milestone of 2.2 million hours worked with no lost-time accidents.
