Inauguration of a sustainable asphalt production plant

For the project on the Bogota-Girardot motorway concession, operated by VINCI Highways (VINCI Concessions), Vía 40 Express has brought into service an asphalt production plant belonging to the Ruta 40 construction company, composed of VINCI Construction Grands Projets and VINCI Construction Terrassement Grands Projets. Based in Fusagasugá, this plant’s technology enables it to operate using up to 40% of recycled materials.

It has the potential to produce 240 t of asphalt per hour, thus meeting the high demand of the project while limiting the environmental impact. It is, in addition, fuelled by liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which offers greater autonomy and emits less CO₂ than coal, petrol or diesel.
