Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network) has completed its rehabilitation of the 128 km-long road linking Beyla and N’Zérékoré, two large prefectures in the south of the country.

Almost 1,000 people were employed on the works, which involved 850,000 cu. metres of excavation works, 350,000 cu. metres of backfill, 380,000 cu. metres of foundations, 200,000 cu. metres of base layer, 115,000 t of mix and 850,000 t of crushed materials. The old road used to be practically impassable during the rainy seasons; today, the new road facilitates road traffic and makes life easier for local residents.
With the Ebola epidemic raging in the region, extremely strict health measures were enforced throughout the duration of the works to prevent any transmission of the virus: no cases occurred among the workforce.
