On 24 January 2017, Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni formally opened the drinking water treatment plant, rehabilitated by Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network), on the Ggaba peninsula in Kampala.

Undertaken on behalf of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC), the works to rehabilitate and optimise this plant notably involved the creation of civil engineering structures, the installation of electro-mechanical equipment, distribution networks and treated-water storage reservoirs, and waterproofing works.

This project will enable the production capacity of the three Kampala plants to be doubled (to up to 240 million litres/day) and thus keep pace with the growth of the Ugandan capital.
Contract value: €39.8m.
