Close to the historic centre and within the extended area of the town’s urban conservation and development plan (PSMV), the foundation stone for the future law courts (Palais de Justice) in Poitiers (western France), for which the extension and refurbishment works are to be carried out by Sogea Atlantique BTP (VINCI Construction France), was laid on 27 May 2016 in the presence of Jean-Jacques Urvoas, French Minister of Justice.
The project involves the total rehabilitation of the existing building and creating the various courtrooms as an extension to this listed structure. The façades and roofs of the main building, listed in the supplementary inventory of the French historic monuments organisation, will be preserved.
Value of the works: €33m.
