First urban cable-car system for Reunion Island

A joint venture comprising Sogea Réunion (VINCI Construction Dom-Tom), Poma, Sodiparc, Egis, Atelier Architectes, Richez-Associés and ISR has been awarded a contract by the CINOR (intercommunal structure in the north of Reunion Island) for the design, construction, upkeep and maintenance of an urban cable-car system in Saint-Denis.

2.7 km in length and boasting five stations, this system will connect the Bois-de-Nèfles, Le Moufia and Le Chaudron neighbourhoods. The aim of this new mode of transport is to reduce traffic on the highly-congested road network.

Sogea Réunion is in charge of the civil engineering and creating the stations.

The works should start in late 2018, with entry into service scheduled for late 2019.
