1 April 2017 - New contracts - Czech Republic

As leader of a joint venture including Eurovia Béton and Colas, Eurovia CS has secured the contract to upgrade the Hořice-Koberovice section of the D1 motorway, in the centre of the country.

This forms part of a vast renovation project for this motorway linking the two biggest Czech cities, Prague and Brno, and on which Eurovia CS has already rehabilitated three sections.

The project involves the rehabilitation and widening of the carriageways, the refurbishment of the bridges, the installation of arrangements to allow access to the central reservation – thus enabling the emergency services to intervene more quickly – and work on the water drainage systems, networks and signage. The works are due for completion in autumn 2018.

The modernisation of this 6.5 km-long section, used each day by 100,000 vehicles, will improve safety and traffic flow and contribute to the economic development of this landlocked region.
Value of the works for this new contract: €31m.
