17 August 2018 - Projects update and handover - France

Sogea Sud Bâtiment (VINCI Construction France) is currently extending the Raoul Fonquerne aquatic centre in Sète, which is to have a new 50 m Olympic pool and seating for 1,000 people as well as two large sports halls.

The shape of the building and of the roof (1,000 sq. metres) will be designed to capture as much solar heat as possible and a thermal cover will cover the pool when not in use. The centre will also be equipped with a system for recovering calories from sanitary wastewater and the water of the pool, supplementing a high-performance natural gas boiler. The existing structure will also be renovated.

The centre is due to open in September 2019.
