16 April 2018 - New contracts - France

As part of the “post-Fukushima” programme for nuclear reactors, EDF has entrusted the Connekt joint venture, composed of Nuvia Structure (VINCI Construction), Campenon Bernard Nucléaire (VINCI Construction France) and Eurovia, with the project management and the creation of the networks between the buildings housing the last resort diesel generators and the reactor buildings.

Teams from Eurovia Drôme Ardèche, Sogea Rhône-Alpes and Campenon Bernard Régions (VINCI Construction France subsidiaries), subcontracting for Connekt, are jointly carrying out these works at the Bugey (eastern France) and Cruas (southern France) sites.

They have mainly involved creating concrete pipe segments (section: over 4 sq. metres) and installing them at depths of up to 4 m below the water table in a particularly dense and constricted industrial environment. The presence of numerous crisscrossing active networks has required a number of technical feats on this major civil engineering project.

The technical structures have now been completed; the surface works and work on supplementary structures will continue through until February 2019.
