11 May 2018 - Projects update and handover - Belgium

Teams from Eurovia Belgium (Brussels sector) have just completed the first phase of comprehensive development works (roadways and networks) around Line 9 of the Brussels tramway which, located in the north of the city, will link the Simonis metro station with the university hospital and, in the medium term, the future national stadium.

On completion of the connection works launched in May 2015 (the first trams will run in September 2018, following the test phase), work will start on extending the line towards the Heysel plateau.

The teams were involved in developing the public spaces and, in particular, in improving the safety of the crossroads, footways and cycleways and the access to the emergency department of the UZ Brussels hospital (Universitair Ziekenhuis).
