Creating a suspension bridge

Freyssinet (VINCI Construction) is pushing forward with the construction of a suspension bridge over the Rio Perené river, on the edge of the Amazon jungle.

This project, being undertaken on behalf of Consorcio Pichanaki, notably involves installing two suspension cables, each composed of 18 suspenders. The completed structure, providing the local community with fast direct access to the road, will be composed of an 8 metre-wide steel deck, a 102 m-long central span, and 17 m-high concrete towers. The works will be completed this year.
