Completion of first deck segments of the Wouri Bridge

In Douala, the VINCI Construction joint venture, comprising Sogea-Satom, Dodin Campenon Bernard, Soletanche Bachy and Sogea TPI, in charge of building the new bridge over the Wouri, has completed the first two deck segments starting from the P6 piers of the road structure and the railway structure. Built using the free cantilever method, these boast 16 and 17 pairs of voussoirs respectively, representing a total of 4,100 cu. metres of concrete and 500 tonnes of reinforcing steel. The installation of the deck segments of the P5 piers has also progressed, meaning that the construction of the decks was 33% complete as of the end of March 2016.
