22 April 2016 - New contracts - France

A joint venture composed of Campenon Bernard Nucléaire (leader) and TPC (both VINCI Construction France subsidiaries), together with Nuvia (Soletanche Freyssinet/VINCI Construction), is implementing the civil engineering works package of the ‘ultimate backup’ project under way at the nuclear power plant at Flamanville (Normandy) as part of EDF’s post-Fukushima strategy.

The aim of this operation is to ensure that, during the operating phase, a supply of raw water is available to cool the plant in the event of a failure of the initial heat sinks. It notably involves earthworks and the design and construction of several engineering structures, including a monolithic, 45 m-high structure anchored in the cliff. Accorded the Attitude Environnement label by VINCI Construction France, the project, taking nine months, is due for completion in spring 2016.
Project value for the joint venture: €4.6m.
