Biodigester project in city of Grand Rapids

Nicholson and Menard Group USA (both VINCI Construction) have teamed up within the framework of the project to build a biodigester in the wastewater treatment plant in Grand Rapids, in Michigan.

This project reflects the city’s aim to supply all its buildings with renewable energy by 2025. Three large-diameter basins, a treatment installation, a tunnel and several other ancillary structures are being created. Ground improvement measures were required, notably involving rigid inclusions with controlled modulus columns, and the treatment of voids in the rock using drilling and injection techniques. Completion of the works is scheduled for May 2018.
