A tailor-made façade for the Manufacture de la Mode

Méditerranée Préfabrication, a subsidiary of VINCI Construction France, is working on the future Manufacture de la Mode in Aubervilliers near Paris.

After making the modules that will adorn the building, the company put them in place in November 2019. Made of ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), the 231 monolithic white modules are reminiscent of fabric fibres. Making, handling and placing these modules is extremely difficult due to their immense height of 24 m and 14 different forms; a variety of tools are required, including one that weighs over five tonnes. Designed by French architect Rudy Ricciotti, the 25,000-m2 building joins his other iconic UHPC structures built by VINCI Construction France, like the MuCEM museum in Marseille.
