VINCI wins the contract to build a new campus at Polytechnique

The Ministry of Defence has selected a consortium consisting of Génécomi (Société Générale), Sogeprom (Société Générale), JB. Lacoudre et H. Godet (architects), GTM Bâtiment (VINCI Construction France) and Cofely (GDF Suez) to finance, design, build and maintain the new ENSTA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Techniques Avancées) campus.

As part of this operation, GTM Bâtiment, a VINCI Construction France subsidiary, was awarded the contract to build a teaching and research facility, 432 studios and residential units and a gymnasium, for a total amount of over €100 million. Works will commence in June 2010 and are expected to take 24 months.

On completion of the works, the ENSTA campus will welcome 600 students and 180 teachers, researchers and other staff in September 2012. Located in Palaiseau, on the 6-hectare Polytechnique site, the structures will be built to high environmental quality standards and will, in particular, be equipped with a geothermal heating system.

With this contract, VINCI Construction France confirms its capacity to propose integrated and innovative global offerings, notably in the field of energy and environmental optimisation.
