The Steering Committee

A steering committee, composed of the managing director and the project director of the Etablissement public du musée et du domaine national de Versailles, the Inspector General of the Monuments Historiques, the project director appointed by VINCI and a VINCI representative, decides on questions of an administrative and budgetary nature. It monitors the financial implementation of the programmes and takes decisions regarding the appointment of firms to carry out the various sorts of specialised work.

The Monitoring Committee

The Monitoring Committee is composed of members of the Steering Committee and representatives of:

  • the Conservation Department of the Etablissement Public du Musée et du Domaine National de Versailles
  • the General Inspectorate for architecture and the cultural heritage
  • C2RMF (French museums' research and restoration centre)
  • the research laboratory of the Monuments Historiques.

The International Scientific Council

The International Scientific Council, composed of leading experts on 17th century decorative painting and architecture, European restorers, and senior representatives from the Versailles authorities and other European museums, is following the successive stages of this major project and advising on the various restoration options.
